Last night went pretty well, considering I cut my finger on a piece of glass reaching for a jar of pasta sauce. We didn’t bother going to multiple places; it was freezing out, I was bleeding, there was no need since I mostly wanted fruit and yogurt and found plenty of both. They were throwing out a lot of flowers from Valentine’s day, so I took a nice bouquet of red roses for myself. There were also a lot of good unopened sauces and yogurts that whose only fault was being smeared with yogurt or mustard from a smashed container. Here’s what I got:

  • chicken thighs
  • smoked salmon
  • carrot juice (quart)
  • 4 navel oranges
  • 3 blood oranges
  • 3 lemons
  • 6 apples
  • strawberries
  • blackberries
  • 5 brown tomatoes
  • a bag of multicolor mini peppers
  • a head of cauliflower
  • 2 bags of kale
  • 1 bagged spinach salad
  • frozen blueberries
  • frozen broccoli
  • gluten free everything bagels
  • challah rolls
  • fruit and pecan bread
  • salsa
  • enchilada sauce
  • 3 cheese pasta sauce
  • pepper jelly
  • 3 large tubs of vanilla yogurt
  • mascarpone
  • 1 lb brown rice blend with black barley and radish seeds
  • Bamba peanut snacks
  • churro snacks
  • beet crackers
  • coconut oil
  • probiotic capsules (I’ve heard these can be used to help with lacto-fermentation for foods like kimchi and pickles)
  • 1 dozen red roses
