Last night we found a great deal of food very quickly and were home in around an hour and a half, but the volume was so great that we were up as late as usual sorting and rinsing it. I took less than a third of the total home (I always tell myself I should have taken less) and it still threatened to overfill my kitchen (I have roommates, so I have to be careful not to take up too much space, though they don’t eat at home much). Lots of sauces and condiments. Here’s what I got:
- A small panettone
- Vegan chocolate and raspberry rugelach (2 of about 20 boxes of assorted pastries and cookies)
- A couple of crossaints and a jam-filled pastry
- Melted vanilla ice cream
- A bag of brioche hamburger buns
- Unsliced marble rye loaf
- Pita
- Lavash
- Medium flour tortillas (small bag)
- Small corn tortillas (large bag)
- A bunch of dill
- A red onion
- 2 bags crunchy salad mix
- Okra chips
- A head of cauliflower
- 2 bags small assorted sweet potatoes
- Celery
- A few Mandarin oranges and tangerines
- Prunes
- A couple of date and nut bites
- Pesto
- Adobo chicken Caesar salad (1 of about a dozen)
- 2 garlic hummus, 1 chipotle hummus and 1 beet and lemon hummus (of at least a 15 packages of hummus)
- Pico de gallo
- Green hot sauce
- Creamed honey
- Horseradish pub cheese
- Lox-inspired (nori-flavored) vegan cream cheese
- Aioli
- Almond butter turmeric salad dressing
- Eggplant and garlic spread with and roasted red pepper
- Roasted red pepper spread with garlic and eggplant (seriously, they’re not the same thing)
- Sour cream
- Large plain yogurt
- Small flavored yogurts (coconut, vanilla, blueberry, peach, mango, fig)
- Parmigiano-Reggiano
- Grayson cheese
- Mexican shredded cheese blend
- Salmon filet
- Grilled rosemary chicken
- A rotisserie chicken
- Sliced ham
- 9 eggs
- Baked sriracha tofu
- Sprouted tofu
- Goat cheese and sundried tomato ravioli
- Butternut squash and turkey sausage quiche (I’m eating this now, it’s pretty great)
- Frozen cioppino
- Carrot and turmeric juice (large bottle)
- A bottle of kombucha lemonade (the word “fermented” on the packaging was so faint that at first I thought it had spoiled) that we drank in the truck
I also found a gift card in an envelope marked “$50” but called to check the balance and found (as expected, but it’s worth checking) that it was empty.
It looks like I’m going to be eating a lot of tacos, burgers and hummus for a while, maybe a stir fry too.
