
With the truck running again, we were able to go out dumpstering this week. Here’s a rundown of what I took home:

- 1 cipollini onion
- 2 small bags of ginger root

- can of chickpeas

- 1 lb basmati rice
- about 3/4 a bag of roasted almonds
- 1 lb sunflower seeds
- 1 lb sour cherry and pineapple trail mix
- sesame sticks
- Italian wedding soup
- small red potato salad
- 3 bananas
- 3 apple juice boxes
- a decorative holiday flower arrangement
- a tiny potted Christmas tree covered in glitter
Two weeks ago we found a small vase that a child had painted and dedicated to someone named Ms. Rubin, and set it aside next to the trash. This week I noticed the vase sitting in a planter in front of the store. Someone else must have also thought it was cute.
